How to Eat a Full English braekfast

How To Eat (HTE) discuss the basics of a full English breakfast from the cooking and condiments to all the components that a "full English" consists off. There are very detailed descriptions of how you should prepare this traditional English dish. The article states that this is not a healthy meal, due to its high fat content and trying to pretend it is by grilling instead of frying the ingredients, will ruin the original concept. A full English is supposed to be greasy and moisturous and very often people eat it to alleviate a hangover

A full English breakfast is certainly not my favourite meal. I don’t want to eat beans, sausages and black pudding in the morning. I think it’s too heavy on the stomach and I’d rather drink my orange juice and eat my cheese sandwich. I do like eggs and bacon for breakfast, but only occasionally. I must admit that I love to eat eggs and bacon the day after I drank a little too much. It is almost as if your body is screaming out loud to have a solid breakfast and afterwards you feel much better. The full English breakfast could be appetizing for lunch or even for dinner, but in a normal situation please don’t serve it as breakfast!

  1. Dear Maya , if I think of a full English breakfast, my stomack starts behaving like I am in a rollercoaster...... the mere sight of all the food on the plate makes me want to throw up (apologies for my language) so I agree with you; an English breakfast is not for the faint hearted but for the real die-hards! I made an English breakfast with my class a few months ago and they really liked the sausage and the eggs but they did not touch the beans and the tomato sauce.

  2. Last year I have been to London with my sister and a friend for a couple of days and my breakfast consisted of toast with jelly and honey EVEREY singel morning. I am not fond of such a breakfast, let alone a full English breakfast. We had the choice of getting one, but my stomach wouldn't let me. As Inge said, my stomach would have behaved like I had been in roller coaster afterwards... Maybe next time when I visit London with my boyfriend I will give it a try and if I don't like it I can pass it to him, he eats everything you see :)
